I know it looks like a third grader put this together, but it was actually me. A little felt and fabric glue -you know. Third grade supplies, third grade skills... it was bound to be, but I don't even care. The animals are wood and 67 cents at Hobby Lobby. I put velcro on the backs so he can move them around of play with them on their own...
The gate folds down and the barn opens to reveal a horse...
There are matching shapes hiding under the dark blue squares to make a memory game. There are : two white sea shells, two red fish, two gold treasure coins, and two orange starfish. All velcroed to the page so they can be moved around so the game can be played again and again...
The dog house opens, so he can put the dog in and out. Or the cat in and out.
I bound it with a little yarn, so it will be easy to add/ take out pages as he gets older/ bored with the ones I've made.
And the verdict is: He likes it! Success!!

This is so cute. I like that you made it big enough for him to handle. Some of the books are small and little hands can't quite manage moving stuff around. He's lucky to have a loving and creative Mom. And you can change animals to make a new book. Love the both of you, and Dad too! Oh I made a rhyme!
I think it's cute! A great idea. Easy and uncomplicated, like these things should be! Great job!
That's awesome!! I think it looks great!
I think this is exactly what every young mother wants and needs for their little ones. Good for you to be brave and tackle making one. I was never courageous enough! I think you did a great job!
