so quiet in the world tonight

(I can't believe I have to go back to his first week of life
for a picture of him sleeping.)

The house is quiet.
The only noise is coming from the fan,
and the clicking of the keyboard.
The family is out & about,
and the babe is (thankfully) sleeping.

It's the last week of May.
Okay, the last full week of May.
Which means that I am heading home next week.
Next week. Wow.

It'll be nice to have my own kitchen again.
I'm ready to rededicate myself to culinary effort.
(I was at my friend Kemra's house an hour ago,
where she was whipping up an amazing
pecan-crusted, orange zested chicken salad delight,
with a fabulous orange, maple syrup dressing,
and it reminded me that I want to be awesome like that.)

(I really want to be like that.)

Anyway, back to what I was saying...

It's already time for me to head home.
It's so strange how these last several months
have been forever and nothing at the same time.

Time is a funny thing.

And, while I'm thinking of it,
Note to self: Get a picture of that baby sleeping
before he's all grown up.

wow that did go strangely fast. I get Davey back next week, after 2 months. I can't imagine 6 without a hubby, but I'm wishing a fast month of June for you!!

also, i have about a billion pictures of Max sleeping, that i don't think i'll ever have a use for. But i love that when they sleep, their little faces look like newborns again :)

Time is a crazy thing. I'm still trying to figure it out.

And I don't think that I have ever taken enough pictures of my children sleeping.

Time seems to go so slow for me until I take the time to look back.

I love that picture of you little guy. Sleeping children are precious.

I am no Kemra. We had takeout tonight, but I would also love to be. Maybe in the next life. :)

Feel free to stop and have dinner with us in Albuquerque again! We could even have you over to our house if you want.
