a post for the family

Have I mentioned how nice it is to be back in my own bed? Because it is so, so nice. Being in my own bed also means I'm in my own kitchen, and my own bathroom, and my own space... I hope we can spend Christmas here. Just the three of us. With a tree. (Haven't had one in two years, you know.) And hot chocolate. And snow. Yes, I just said that.

Also so nice: The Little Pirate let me sleep in until 7 this morning! People, this is a record for us.

Also, speaking of The Little Pirate, he's been carrying around a toy phone for the last two days, dialing random numbers and then handing it to me to hand back to him. Me thinks he probably sees me on the phone just a little too much.... Although the black hole that is our house & all of our time in Alabama has equated to my phone time being only a fourth of what it once was. Promise Mom. I'm {probably} not growing a tumor behind my right ear.

Yesterday he did something else that I thought aunts and grandparents might think cute. He has a book called Snuggle Puppy and yesterday we were playing in the living room and I called him my "Fuzzy Little Snuggle Puppy" and then I started singing the song to him. He walked over to the bookshelf, found the Snuggle Puppy book, and then pulled it off the shelf for me to read to him, which melted my heart just a little. (Also, maybe a little too smart of a thing for a 13 month old? Scares me. A little.)

Now... Off to the day!

How cute is that.. and smart. I am never surprised when he does things that show how smart he is.It was obvious very early that he was always a step ahead! I am glad you are happy to be home. If he slept that long he is too! See you soon.
