lets have a little heart to heart.

Exercise.
For me it might as well be a 4 letter word.

I'll get in a decent routine for a month
maybe two.
Five at the very, very most.

And then something happens
(excuses, excuses, excuses)
and for one reason or another
I fall off the wagon.
Out of the habit
-and onto my very comfy couch,
with one of my BF's: the t.v.

It seems to be the
never-ending-cycle of my life.

I know it is SO important.
I know that it is the only way to be truly healthy.
I know that if I don't just do it,
one of these days... as in when I'm a little older...
I'm gonna really wish I had.

But even with all my knowledge,
I still lack the motivation.

I can empathize with those
weak-willed smokers.
I really can.

Anyway...
I'm thinking it might be time to
start up my
Moving Forward Monday
again.

I'd like to change it up somehow.
Which is to say:
Tallying & updating individual miles took me
about 18 years every Saturday morning,
so I'm not real anxious to do that again.

Also, we already made it across the U.S.
and I'm not feeling ambitious enough to
walk across the world, or to the moon,
or even to Europe.

So I'm trying to think of something new.
Some new thing to do.
To push me (and any? all? of you)
into being healthier.

Ideas?
Anyone?

I've been walking on my treadmill for 6 days now. Sunday was my day of rest. MAma nut inspired me...(she has lost 40 pounds so far. And getting in shape for my kids. Wanna walk with me? I probably will be posting successes and such on my blog..hopefully they are ALL exercise successes....2 miles 30 minutes a day...well more like 35-40 mins.... i feel so GOOD!

I'm with you. Completely unmotivated and fall off the bandwagon. I got really motivated after going to a trampoline gym after giving birth, and practically wetting my pants with every single individual jump. I mean, c'mon that is just WEAK!
Now I get on the eliptical while I watch tv. No exercise during tv=no tv. Its a house rule. And it is actually working. I don't know how you'd blog that though.

I fell off the bandwagon when I got vertigo in March... And again when I fell in July... And now my excuse (legitimate excuse, but still an excuse) is my lower back... But I think exercise might help my lower back, so I'm just about to the point of wanting to exercise again. Of course, gaining 10 pounds also spurs that desire...

But yeah, I don't have any new ideas. I'm doing the whole "Walk to ______" thing again. This time, it's Salt Lake! :)

So, I joined your blog when I heard about your "Walk Across America". Only problem is I never walked. But I've enjoyed your blog, nonetheless.

I have a friend here in New Mexico who has taken on some kind of a challenge to walk 10,000 steps a day (she has a pedometer that she wears) and to get most of it in she walks close to 4 miles a day. We've been having a great time!

I think the best idea is to walk with friends. It's the only thing that's ever got me up off my toosh and moving.

okay...so i have been thinking of this and what to do to continue the moving forward Monday....and maybe....we can track our own miles on our own blogs and make our own way across the US...it would take longer. we track it ourselves...and you can just have everyone's name who is participating linked on your sidebar or something...maybe make a cute moving forward Monday button that we can put on our blog to bring/invite people to do the same....okay...just a thought :)

You are so skinny! However, as a once skinny fatty, I wish I had gotten into the habit back when it was easier. Just getting into the habit and not skipping EVER is the best way that I know how to keep it up. Have it be part of your first thing in the morning routine.
