After the meeting, a girl who I had met a couple summers before? the summer before? I really didn't remember her at all -but she remembered me, and invited me to go with her to a fireside that night with some of her friends. One of her friends was a girl named Janet. Long story short, Janet invited me & got her bishop to make out a recommend/ ticket for me, took care of our travel arrangements, and the next Sunday, I was sitting in a chapel only a couple blocks away from the temple, as President Hinkley dedicated the Manhattan temple.
You might call this all coincidence, but I say it was total divine intervention. He heard the desire of my heart and made it happen for me.

That is such a sweet story. I love things like that, which really make you feel the Lord's hand in everything
What a neat experience!
I just looked up what that temple looks like (because I have never done that!), and it's beautiful!! Funny how it looks so tiny among all the tall buildings, yet something that same size around here would look huge! :)
I love this story. The Lord is in the details of our life!
What a great story!! I totally thing tht Heavenly Father was answering your prayers--even if they were just prayers of the heart!!
That ---is----so----NEAT.
I am so glad you got to experience that.
I love that. It is so nice to have those little tender mercies in life.
Thats a nice story =)
I just love those tender mercies! Sometimes I doubt that my wish fulfillments for seemingly trivial things come from the Lord but then I think how happy I am to make my children happy with some small thing even though I know it isn't necessarily important and I realize that He grants us these things so that we know that He loves us in a way that we can understand and relate to. (Not that the dedication was unimportant and trivial--lots of my wishes are, tho.)
We are daughters of our Heavenly Father who loves us and we love Him.
He loves us!
