five years ago...

Five years ago, at about this time of the day, I was sitting in a chair while a friend of a friend did my hair. I remember thinking, "Today is the biggest day of my life. Why am I not nervous? Shouldn't I be feeling nervous?"

If you've seen the movie, Sleepless in Seattle, you'll remember the part where Tom Hanks is telling the radio show host about his wife, he says something along the lines of, "I was taking her hand to help her out of cab, and it was like... magic. It was like coming home, only to a home I'd never known before..." That's how it was for me with Hubby from the first date. I sipped my minestrone soup, and wondered where all the typical date butterflies were, and why I felt like I'd known this handsome man, twirling pasta around his fork, all my life.

Of course we had been out once before, on a Sunday night we had walked around the temple... oh, maybe 200 times. He'll tell you I "tricked" him into a date on a Sunday, which he had made a personal policy against -apparently. I'll tell you I was being obedient to the Spirit.

No matter.

He was the one for me from that first lunch date, and I knew it.

And here we are, five very fast years of marriage later, and I am still head over heels for this man that I call Hubby.

Happy Anniversary, My Love!
