we went, i shopped, i ate, i shopped some more

Well folks. I'm outta free picture space. I'll have to figure out if I can delete old photos, or if they're really going to make me start paying for picture space... Crap-ola.

[Just imagine a picture of a really cute, happy pig right here. That's what I tried to upload.]

We drove down to the great state of Arizona for the holidays. It was wonderful.

We managed to get our family pictures done. The whole happy family in one frame. Actually I bet my dear friend Sarah had more like 500 frames total, and if we are very, very lucky ONE will turn out. We had one very uncooperative toddler -I won't name names- but he was not being a very chipper chap. I believe he's either screaming or scowling in every single shot.

My awesome SIL and I raided nearly every mall in the area looking for the right things to wear for pics on Monday and Tuesday, then for all the best Black Friday deals on Friday.

Hubby, Pirate, Grandma, Grandpa and I went to the Bass Pro Shops on Thursday. Pirate was so excited to see the "Pish!" -I'm going to cry the day he starts saying Fish instead of Pish. He pointed to all the stuffed animals (the real ones, you know, displayed just below the ceiling) and called out what they were, Hubby -had he been paying attention would have been so proud! Then after he'd identified the Chicken (turkey) the Melk (elk) the Deer, the Lion ROAR!, and the Water Duck Quack! -he looked at me and said, "Zoo Z Zoo!" Which I thought was very, very cute. It was a Zoo in there, animals aside. But it was really fun.

We had our family Thanksgiving on Wednesday because my little brother had to work on Thursday, so after eating approximately  76lbs of turkey, potatoes, and pie the night before it was very, very difficult for me  to crawl out of bed the next morning, and at 7AM running the Turkey Trot -the one I've been training 6 weeks for- seemed like ludicrous idea. So, Brittany dragged me (almost literally dragged me) to an early morning spin class instead. I've never been to spin. I thought I was going to die, but I didn't and afterwards I felt pretty proud of myself even if my legs were jelly.

My Aunt Pam was in town too, so we were able to catch up a bit. She came over to the house a couple times while we were there. We did a campfire/ smores night, and she joined us for our Thanksgiving meal, and the whole family -aunts & cousins- went out to Tia Rosas one night. It was good to see everyone and have a few minutes at least to catch up.

We stopped by the Walters too while we were there. So nice to catch up with the family, you know?

Thursday night we went to the temple to see the Christmas lights.

I even managed to squeeze in a little time with Kem. We both discovered we needed a few groceries, so in the middle of the night (10:00) we made a Wal-Mart run together. In the salad dressing aisle it dawned on me how old we are. It wasn't that very long ago 10:00 found us on our way to a party... Now 10:00 is late enough to make us slap happy and grocery shopping is what we have time for. Tsk. Tsk.

Anyhow, that would pretty much sum up Thanksgiving 2012. I loved every minute of being "home." I loved getting to spend so much time with the family. Truly, we are so blessed.

I had so much fun when you were here. I was sad I had to work two days!! But I loved the time spent with you and the pirate! He was rather subdued! Not as much room to run in the house but he loved the outside. Is he begging to go outside now that you are home? Hope to see you again before you depart to lands unknown!! Love you.

I can't believe how many blogs I have read this week saying they have run out of space. This happened to me as well. My daughter taught me how to go back and erase the photos in picasa which wasn't a problem since I have made blog books from 2008, 2009, and 2010. I still need to get my 2011 and 2012 books done. It's a nice feeling to have my life in journal and picture form in hard bound books.
Also there is the option of buying more space I hear, but I'm cheap and didn't want to do that. Good luck.

I ran out of space a couple years ago. I'm paying for space right now, but since most of the pictures are on my private blog, I can delete them once I've archived all my posts.

It's only like $6 for more storage... But yeah, tough choice!
