just because...

It's late and I'm tired, but I just did my last peek in on the Pirate before I go to bed. He's stretched out like a star-fish and sleeping soundly. His "train sock" is tucked against his body, and the handful of tiny stuffed animals we found today when we were on the hunt for nursing pillows and pack n' play accessories are all piled up near his head. He insisted that they all wanted to be right there, right by him.
I wish I could risk taking a picture, but he's the lightest sleeper in the history of sleepers. Sometimes, every once in awhile, I risk giving him a little peck on the cheek. I love this kid. I love how little he still is. I'm too aware that the day is coming that he won't be a little boy anymore. He won't want anything to do with stuffed animals lining his bed, nor his momma's kisses.

I know what you mean. I wish I could just snuggle my kids all day!

I love it when my 7 year old crawls up on my lap for hugs and snuggles...because he is too cool to have mom walk him to the bus anymore.
